In a small village in England, a stunning cosmetic beauty named Tamara Drew (played by Gemma Arterton) returns to her hometown, where she grew up. After years of adventure outside and undergoing surgery to change her naturally large nose, she has become a young journalist. Her intention for this trip is simply to sell her late mother's house. However, when the once ugly girl with a big nose appears before everyone in such a glamorous way, the peaceful village is suddenly stirred up, with men falling one after another under Tamara's charm: young Andy (played by Luke Evans) has been attracted to her since childhood, the band’s drummer Ben (played by Dominic Cooper) even enters a passionate romance with her, and even the middle-aged writer Nicholas (played by Roger Allam) entangles with her behind his wife's back. However, the truth can't be hidden forever, and a series of dramatic twists unfold as things gradually come to light. How will Tamara and the villagers return to their normal lives?     The film is adapted from Posy Simmonds' beloved comic novel of the same name, inspired by Thomas Hardy's classic novel "Far from the Madding Crowd."
