Boss Bo (played by Ng Man-tat), the owner of Bo's Diner, is also the landlord of a building in Tai Ping Fang. As the land gets developed, many old neighbors are forced to move away, while Boss Bo stays with his old house and tenants, refusing to sell the property. Boss Bo's nephew, Da Zhi (played by Yuen Biao), comes to Hong Kong from a Beijing acrobatic troupe to seek a better future with Boss Bo.
