The story takes place in Baltimore, Maryland, where Sylvia (played by Tracey Ullman) and her husband Vaughn (played by Chris Isaak) have been married for many years and run a convenience store together. Every day, Sylvia manages the ins and outs of the store while also worrying about their rebellious daughter Caprice (played by Selma Blair). The chaotic life has left Sylvia exhausted, with little energy to maintain her relationship with her husband. A car accident leaves Sylvia with a concussion, but unlike a typical concussion, Sylvia's condition manifests as intense sexual urges. From then on, Sylvia's personality becomes increasingly wild and promiscuous, which initially amuses Vaughn but gradually leaves him feeling overwhelmed.
