Adapted from the legendary novel "Nanso Satomi Hakkenden" by renowned Japanese writer Kyokutei Bakin. The lord of Tateyama Castle, Satomi Yoshiyuki, sends his father to subdue Tadakatsu Hamada. The son of Hamada, Sutō (played by Yusuke Mekura), and his mother Tamaki (played by Mari Naka) manage to survive and offer their souls to evil spirits, gaining powerful and malevolent strength. Years later, Sutō leads an army of darkness to invade Tateyama Castle, slaughtering the Satomi clan, with only Yoshiyuki's daughter, Shizuka (played by Hiroko Yakushimaru), escaping. In the jungle, Shizuka encounters Inue Chībei (played by Hiroyuki Sanada), Inuyama Dōsetsu (played by Shinichi Chiba), and Inumura Ōkubo (played by Nō Terada). From an ancient scroll, she learns that only by gathering warriors who possess the eight gemstones of benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, loyalty, trust, filial piety, and brotherly respect can they defeat Sutō's dark army. Shizuka tirelessly searches for the remaining "Dog Warriors" to prepare for the final battle against the forces of darkness...
