The film is set on a commuter train, where a businessman, Macaulay (played by Liam Neeson), has been commuting to work for ten years. He encounters a "mysterious passenger," Joanna (played by Vera Farmiga), who initiates a conversation with him. Joanna offers Macaulay a highly tempting task: identify a passenger on the train, and he will receive a substantial cash reward. However, as he searches, Macaulay gradually discovers that he is embroiled in a deadly dangerous situation. Will he be able to successfully escape from this "terror train," and what enormous conspiracy lies behind it? As the train continues to accelerate, the truth is gradually revealed...
