Engineer Jennings (played by Ben Affleck) is a high-tech genius. He is frequently hired for various project researches, receiving hefty rewards, but under the condition of strict confidentiality, he must have his short-term memory deleted after completion. This time, Jennings' task comes with an astronomical reward, and he must spend several years dedicated to the development of this new product. When the product is completed, something unexpected happens. Jennings does not receive the promised reward; instead, he finds an envelope containing a statement that he voluntarily waives his compensation. Jennings is astonished, and when he tries to find out the truth, he discovers that trouble is escalating. The FBI and the company's owner are relentlessly pursuing him, seeking to destroy him. This series of mysterious events further convinces Jennings that there must be an unknown truth behind it all. Indeed, a meticulous conspiracy gradually comes to light as he investigates.
