Gabe Walker (played by Sylvester Stallone) is a mountaineering rescue team member, and for him, constantly conquering one seemingly insurmountable peak after another is the whole meaning of life. However, during one operation, Gabe's negligence leads to the accidental death of a friend, filling him with guilt and regret, and he decides to give up climbing. By chance, Gabe receives a mysterious distress signal originating from the summit of a snow-covered mountain. Along with his friend Hal (played by Michael Rooker) and Jesse (played by Janine Turner), Gabe resolves to investigate. What he does not expect is that at the mountain's peak awaits a group of ruthless robbers and a number of unarmed hostages. More perilous than the environment is the nature of man; will Gabe be able to turn this misfortune into good fortune?
