At just 19 years old, Adam (portrayed by Jack O'Connell) is the quintessential figure in the realm of useless slackers. His mother is involved with gangster boss Peter (played by Peter Mullan), and the ineffectual unemployed youth Adam also helps his stepfather with some unsavory jobs. However, life in the underworld isn’t easy for him; after Adam crashes Peter’s car, his stepfather is furious.
