General Liu Daxiong of Zhenxi and his wife Qimei (played by Mao Ying) are intercepted by four former servants on their way home. In this attack, Liu Daxiong is unfortunately killed, and Qimei suffers humiliation. However, the mastermind behind these four servants is a retainer of the Sixth Prince. Due to an attempted murder of an official, Qimei is wrongly convicted as a criminal and sentenced to lifelong exile on a deserted island—Wolf Fang Island. In prison, Qimei befriends the Thousand-Handed Guanyin, and they become good friends. On the isolated island, she gives birth to a daughter. To prevent her daughter from becoming entangled in the world's turmoil, Thousand-Handed Guanyin decides to send her to a nunnery and names her Jielian. However, after Jielian masters martial arts, her heavy killing aura violates the killing precept, and she is forcibly expelled from the temple. Jielian learns her true identity from her godmother, Thousand-Handed Guanyin, and vows to take revenge. She remembers the grievances and humiliations suffered on the island 20 years ago and swears to avenge her parents, seek the truth, and make those who caused her parents' deaths pay the necessary price.
