In the early 1940s, as World War II was nearing its end, the intense and prolonged warfare had exhausted both the Soviet and German armies. A highly aggressive and destructive German tank known as the "White Tiger" repeatedly bombarded Soviet tanks, resulting in devastating losses. This unstoppable weapon would mysteriously emerge from the smoke of the battlefield and then vanish, leaving no one able to confirm its existence, yet no one could deny it either. The Soviet commander decided to construct a super tank, a variant of the T-34, to counter it. The tank commander, Ivan Naydyanov (played by Alexei Vertkov), is a legendary figure who, during an encounter with the "White Tiger," suffered catastrophic damage while operating a tank. Surviving against all odds, Ivan not only lived but developed a unique ability to understand the "language of tanks." He firmly believes in the existence of the mysterious German tank "White Tiger" and is determined to destroy it. The war film "White Tiger," directed by Russian filmmaker Karen Shakhnazarov, was nominated for Best Film at the 15th Shanghai International Film Festival in 2012 and was featured in the Russian Film exhibition at the 3rd Beijing International Film Festival in 2013.
