During the late Ming Dynasty, the Central Plains and the borders with the Jin Dynasty were engulfed in the flames of war, and the demonic sect led by Ji Wushuang (played by Wu Zhenyu) wreaked havoc. The court and the martial arts world united to resist the enemy. The top disciple of the Wudang sect, Zhuo Yihang (played by Leslie Cheung), was unruly since childhood but exceptionally talented, gaining the favor of his master, the Ziyang Zhenren.
