During the Ming Dynasty's Wanli era, the renowned general Qi Jiguang fell victim to the slander of eunuchs and withdrew to live a secluded life. A martial arts student named Fang Xinjing came to the capital to take the imperial martial arts examination but failed, feeling lost and without a plan. Fortunately, he met the wealthy businessman Yu Chengzong in the capital. Yu, being generous and hospitable, not only redeemed the famous courtesan Ziyan to matchmake for Fang but also paid handsomely for Fang to go to Dengzhou to celebrate Qi Jiguang's birthday. On their journey, they were suddenly attacked by bandits seeking to steal the birthday gifts, but a mysterious person appeared to save them by eliminating the thieves.
