Ip Man (Donnie Yen) has established himself in Hong Kong and is living a peaceful life with his wife, Cheung Wing-sing (Crysta Kwan). However, an incident of hooliganism occurs at the elementary school where their youngest son, Ye Zhen, is enrolled, involving Ma Jing-sheng (Tan Yaowen), a former disciple of Tian Ao-shan (Leung Ka-Yan). Ip Man leads his disciple Xu Li (Zhang Jicong) and others to protect Teacher Huang (Wu Qianyu), the principal (Liu Yida), and the students, while also making the acquaintance of Zhang Tian-zhi (Zhang Jin), another disciple of Wing Chun, who shares a mutual respect with him.
