Martin (played by Scott Adkins) was once an excellent American federal investigator. After the death of his wife Emma, he chose to retire and went into hiding with his daughter, Kelly (played by Lily Ann Stubbs), living a reclusive life. By chance, a group of drug dealers broke into Martin's home, and to protect his daughter, Martin killed them, thus becoming a murder suspect and landing in the news. Charles (played by James Cosmo), an arms dealer previously sanctioned by Martin, recognized Martin's face on television and sent assassins to kill Martin for revenge. In reality, Charles has another identity—he is Martin's father-in-law. Emma's death was caused by Charles's mistake, so he harbors deep hatred for Martin.
