In 1991, Hong Kong triad leader Ni Kun was murdered. Among the five heads of the Ni family, except for Han Chan (played by Eric Tsang), everyone was waiting for an opportunity to betray. Unexpectedly, they were restrained by the inconspicuous second-generation Ni Yongxiao (played by Anthony Wong) without any effort. This action aroused the suspicion of Chief Inspector Huang Zicheng (played by Anthony Lau), who sent police academy student Chen Yongren (played by Shawn Yue) to infiltrate the Ni family for a long-term undercover mission. In order to solidify his power, Han Chan had already planted an informant, Liu Jianming (played by Edison Chen), within the police.
