The old home is going to be demolished, and Zhang Juran comes to take away the last few belongings, only to find a watch that his father once wore. His father, Zhang Yao, who went missing unexpectedly, left nothing for his son Zhang Juran. Heartbroken, Zhang Juran puts on the watch, but is suddenly kidnapped by a Japanese man. Also kidnapped are his friends Jiji and Lu Yiyī. The Japanese man interrogates Zhang Juran about the location of the "Time Prison." In a bid to escape, Zhang Juran accidentally activates a special function of the watch. He arrives in a mysterious space called the "Time Prison," and by touching the gems inside, he can travel through time. Thus, Zhang Juran returns to 1988, transforming into his father—Zhang Yao. He meets his biological mother, Ma Dan, whom he has never seen before. During multiple time-travel cycles, Zhang Juran uncovers a magical story buried in history, filled with love and animosity between generations. As he travels, the mysterious space "Time Prison" collapses repeatedly, posing an increasing threat to Zhang Juran. Eventually, it comes time for Zhang Juran to make a choice between reality and the past.
