An international research project led by China is taking place deep in the Mariana Trench when it encounters an attack from unknown creatures, leaving the researchers trapped on the ocean floor. Former U.S. Marine deep-sea diving expert Jonas Taylor is tasked with a rescue mission and once again faces the prehistoric creature Megalodon, which left him with an indelible memory years ago in the deep sea. Teaming up with Chinese scientist Zhang Suyin from the research project, Jonas successfully rescues the trapped personnel, but the rescue operation inadvertently leads to Megalodon escaping from the deep sea. When the prehistoric giant returns to shallow waters, humanity will pay a heavy price for its greed against nature...
