Twenty years ago, Mingfeng (played by Wu Mengda), known as the "Golden Right Foot," suffered a damaged reputation after being framed in a match by his senior brother Qiangxiong. By chance, he meets Xing (played by Stephen Chow), who possesses impressive foot skills, and convinces him to practice football for the upcoming National Super Cup Football Championship. Xing gathers a group of his former Shaolin brothers, awakening their dormant fighting spirit that had been dulled by an ordinary life, and they ultimately become the genuine "Shaolin Team." Amei (played by Zhao Wei), who uses Tai Chi skills to make steamed buns, earns Xing's admiration and becomes his friend. However, Amei only sees Xing as a friend, as her self-esteem issues stemming from her looks prevent her from expressing her true feelings. "Shaolin Team" continues to win in the National Super Cup Football Championship and reaches the finals, only to face the "Devil Team" led by Qiangxiong (played by Simon Yam), who uses dirty tactics just like twenty years ago, causing "Shaolin Team" to falter. At a critical moment, Amei appears.
