This film is referred to as the Swedish version of 007. The male lead starred in "A Better World," which won the Best Foreign Language Film at the 83rd Academy Awards. Swedish intelligence officer Carl Hamilton (played by Mikael Persbrandt) infiltrates an international crime syndicate that has stolen advanced GPS-guided missiles from Sweden. This group of mercenaries has kidnapped a Swedish weapons technology expert and received orders from an unidentified client organization to prepare for a deadly attack. Although Hamilton's identity is exposed and he escapes the group's pursuit, both the missiles and the expert have vanished. Soon, one of the stolen weapons appears in a terrorist attack in Somalia, resulting in the assassination of a peaceful politician. With the Swedish Prime Minister's assurance, the government agrees to hire a private security company to carry out the rescue mission, with Hamilton accompanying as a Swedish government observer. Clearly, this is an extremely dangerous mission, as Hamilton must track the terrorists from the desolate deserts of Somalia through street battles in Oman, to jungle and waterborne combat in the Stockholm archipelago.
