Zhuo Yihang (played by Huang Xiaoming), the grandson of the governor of Sichuan and Shaanxi, Zhuo Zhonglian, has just become the new leader of the Wudang Sect. Seizing this opportunity, he sets off to the capital to present the red pill as instructed by Master Ziyang. However, the powerful eunuch Wei Zhongxian (played by Ni Dahong) intervenes, using a fake red pill to poison the recently ascended Ming Guangzong and then takes control of the court, sending the Jinyiwei to hunt down Zhuo Yihang. Meanwhile, the deputy general of Sichuan and Shaanxi, Jin Duyi (played by Zhao Wenzhuo), plots to kill Zhuo Zhonglian and frames the disaster-relief woman from the demonic sect, Yu Luocha (played by Fan Bingbing).
