The story begins three years ago when the rich second-generation Cao Yuanyuan (played by Lin Feng) allowed his men to kill an elderly man over a land dispute, after which he was imprisoned as the mastermind behind the crime. During his time in prison, he lived comfortably and carefreely, and was soon to be released early for good behavior. The elderly man's granddaughter, Liao Yuping (played by Zhou Xiuna), who had recently received threats from Yuanyuan's men, suspects that there is more to the story and decides to file a report to the ICAC about bribery within the prison. To uncover the truth, ICAC Chief Investigation Officer Lu Zhilian (played by Louis Koo) intentionally drives dangerously to get arrested and sent to prison, where he finds himself facing the corrupt police officer Huang Wenbin (played by Lin Jiadong), whom he had previously dealt with, along with rival gangs led by Yuanyuan and Wenbin. The gang war erupts, forcing Lu Sir to get caught up in the chaos, while the prison secretly manipulates everything behind the scenes...
