Ten lifetimes of love and separation, they were originally the golden boy and jade girl by the Jade Emperor's side. Because of their love, they were banished to the mortal realm to endure ten lifetimes of suffering. The story begins in the tenth lifetime. Zhu Jia's daughter, Yan Zhi (played by Twins' Gillian Chung), disguises herself as a man at her parents' request to go to the Xiaoyao Sect to learn the craft. On the way, she faces countless dangers, yet remains unaware. Luckily, she is saved by Liang Zhongshan (played by Wu Zun) and the arriving Ma Cheng'en (played by Hu Ge). For Yan Zhi, the wickedness of the martial world is merely an abstract concept. After ensuring Yan Zhi arrives safely at the Xiaoyao Sect, Cheng'en departs for the capital to report back. In the days of training and play at the Xiaoyao Sect, Yan Zhi grows closer to Zhongshan. When the grass-headed master (played by Yu Chengqing) is testing alchemy and pretends to be dead, Yan Zhi falls and loses consciousness while picking false herbs on the mountain. Zhongshan realizes she is a woman, and amidst his surprise, he also feels sweetness. This couple, who has just fallen in love, soon faces the return of Ma Cheng'en from the capital, who insists that Yan Zhi return home immediately. Unaware of the upheaval in their future, Yan Zhi and Zhongshan promise to wait at home for his marriage proposal. However, what this couple awaits is a meticulously designed trap.
