The online writer Lan Ting (played by Lin Chi-ling) has a very popular novel, and she has even met a fan who calls himself Pai Gu (played by Eric Tsang) asking for an autograph. However, Lan Ting's relationship with her father is very strained, so her father sends Qiao Fei (played by Jay Chou) to invite her to dinner. Qiao Fei is a young hero fighting against tomb robbery and smuggling, but there are misunderstandings between him and Lan Ting. That evening, Lan Ting suddenly encounters a car accident and is kidnapped. When she wakes up, she discovers that her kidnappers are actually Pai Gu's gang, led by the mysterious Hua Ye (played by Chen Daoming). They take Lan Ting hostage and force her father to hand over the treasure map of the desert. Unexpectedly, it is Qiao Fei who comes to negotiate; he brings the map and simultaneously delivers the news of Lan Ting's father's unexpected death. At that moment, a masked person appears and steals the map. Meanwhile, a desert army swoops in, and Qiao Fei protects Lan Ting, leading to a budding romance between them. The group eventually arrives at the Rogue Tribe, where Qiao Fei unexpectedly discovers the true identity of the map thief, and they gradually uncover the secrets of the lost ancient city...
