Ah Wah (Andy Lau) is a social dance teacher. On stage, he is refined and gentlemanly, but in life, he is a downright mean person. Dancing has gradually become a means for him to get rich, devoid of any other significance. Ah Jin (Karen Mok) is a regular waitress at a dance company. Knowing her ordinary qualities, she lives a busy life without complaint. At a high-society dance party, Ah Wah, with his graceful demeanor, strikes up a conversation with socialite Tina (Anita Mui), while his charming presence also catches Ah Jin's attention, who is also at the party. The next day, Ah Jin goes to "Dance Forest," where Ah Wah teaches, hoping to learn how to dance. However, Ah Wah sees Ah Jin as an easy target for financial gain. Although Ah Jin is aware of his intentions, she willingly falls for the trap until her genuine feelings are insulted, prompting her to leave in anger. At that moment, unbeknownst to him, Ah Wah has already fallen in love with this stubborn and infatuated woman.
