One day in the 21st century, mysterious aliens suddenly invade Earth. Strangely, the aliens appear as pixelated characters from popular video games of the 1980s, and every object and human they touch is pixelated without exception. Current U.S. President Will Cooper (played by Kevin James) realizes the seriousness of the situation and quickly calls his old arcade game expert friend Sam Brenner (played by Adam Sandler). With guidance from their quirky friend Ludlow Lamonsoff (played by Josh Gad), they seem to understand the true nature of the aliens. As the invasion continues, this group of big boys recruits their former rival Eddie Plant (played by Peter Dinklage) to unite against the aliens disguised as games in a 3D pixel battle. The fate of Earth hangs in the balance, and this is definitely not a game to take lightly...
