In 1979, mysterious biological remains were discovered in the Kunlun Mountains. An exploration team led by Hu Bayi (played by Zhao Youting) ventured deep into the heart of the Kunlun Mountains in search of more secrets about ancient biological relics. However, they unexpectedly faced successive attacks from various mysterious creatures and accidentally fell into the Nine-Story Demon Tower. Apart from Hu Bayi, the fate of the rest of the group remains a mystery. After retiring, Hu Bayi returned to Beijing, where he reunited with his childhood friend Wang Kaixuan (played by Feng Li). He found himself caught between two forces: a mysterious individual (played by Li Chen) and a scientific research team (Fei Xiaoyue, Tang Yan, Li Guangjie). As he embarked once again on a journey to explore unknown civilizations, he crossed paths with Shirley Yang (played by Yao Chen), and this familiar face awakened memories of his days in the exploration team.
