After Gorbachev's visit to China in 1989, China and Russia resumed full trade relations. The international train running from "Beijing to Moscow" became bustling with activity, as Chinese merchants, dubbed "international middlemen," flocked to Russia, Poland, and other Eastern European countries with various goods. Following this, some criminals seized the opportunity to form gangs and committed rampant robberies and rapes on the train, spreading terror. To safeguard the achievements of reform and opening up, maintain China's international image, and ensure the safety of domestic and foreign travelers, our Public Security Department dispatched a special task force led by Xiang Chong to Russia to collaborate with Russian police in the investigation and capture of these criminals. Xiang Chong's assistants arrived in Moscow by plane, while he took the international train to closely understand the case. Indeed, once the train entered Russian territory, the criminals struck under the cover of night; some passengers were robbed, and others were gang-raped. When Xiang Chong was awakened by the robbers, he fought desperately against them but was ultimately overwhelmed and pushed off the train through a window. Xiang Chong narrowly escaped death and, injured, arrived in Moscow to find his assistants already there. With the assistance of our embassy in Russia, Xiang Chong quickly established contact with the Russian police, who sent female officer Natasha to collaborate with the Chinese side. She was responsible for foreign crime cases and held some bias against Chinese people, leading to initially poor cooperation. However, Xiang Chong and his team persevered, remaining faithful to their duties and seeking clues about the criminals, earning Natasha's respect. The Chinese and Russian police worked closely together, ultimately capturing all the criminals and gaining the friendship of Officer Natasha, who bid farewell to them tearfully on the platform of Moscow station.
