Kawashima Yoshiko (Anita Mui) was originally the fourteenth princess of the Qing dynasty's Suqinfang. To cultivate her as a spark to revive the Qing dynasty, she was sent by the Suqinfang to Japan, where she received spy training from the ronin Kawashima Natsusuke. Later, she lost her virginity to Kawashima Natsusuke and was ordered to marry a Mongolian prince to incite independence in Manchuria, but she encountered a failed marriage. After breaking ties with Kawashima Natsusuke, Kawashima Yoshiko arrived in Shanghai, using her beauty and means to attach herself to the Japanese general Uno Junichi (Xie Xian), assisting Puyi in establishing Manchukuo in Changchun. After being elevated to the commander-in-chief of the Manchukuo Ankuo Army, she officially became a Japanese spy and began a frenzied revenge against revolutionaries. However, upon witnessing her former lover turned revolutionary hero Yun Kai (Andy Lau) attempt to assassinate Uno Junichi and then unfortunately get caught, Kawashima Yoshiko's mindset began to change, but a crisis soon followed her.
