In the autumn of 1947 in northern Shaanxi, on a foggy morning, at the entrance of the Qingstone Mound village by the Li River, grandpa and grandma bid farewell to their last son and daughter-in-law who were evacuating, and silently returned to their prosperous home with their grandson and dog. To avoid the disturbances of Hu Zongnan's army, the entire village evacuated, but grandpa couldn't leave his cave dwelling and land.
