Erica (played by Liang Cheng) was chosen by the CIA due to her exceptional natural abilities. Rather than undergoing regular training, Erica underwent a complete physical transformation, becoming a ruthless half-human, half-machine super assassin known as “Black Cat.” The CIA learned that an international terrorist organization had sent an assassin known as "Iron Man" to kill Yeltsin, and thus dispatched “Black Cat” along with Chinese agent Luo Bin (played by Qiu Yunbo) to pursue "Iron Man." Unfortunately, the two fell into a trap, and "Black Cat's" functions were severely damaged. Authorities could only work on repairing "Black Cat" while setting up an elaborate net, hoping she could capture "Iron Man" before he acted.
