Malcom (played by Denzel Washington) is born to a mixed-race family, with a Black father who is a minister and a non-prejudiced white mother. However, at that time, racial tensions in America were escalating, and the KKK frequently harassed his family, planting the seeds of revenge in his young mind. As Malcom grew up, he frequented bars and even fell into vices like drug abuse and theft. By chance, Malcom encountered a white woman named Sophia, but their romance was cut short by racial prejudice. Malcom ended up in prison for committing a crime, and just when he was in a difficult situation, a Black convert led him to embrace Islam, marking a turning point in his life. Through extensive reading, he gradually understood the cultural roots of racial discrimination and repeatedly advocated for the radical idea that Black people should be independent and take revenge on whites in public forums, causing a huge uproar.
