His only son, Huang Feihong, is pure-hearted by nature and has a solid foundation in martial arts. When Qi-ying falls ill, he tells Feihong that many years ago, he expelled a cold-hearted and ruthless Japanese disciple, Shi Bing-wei, from his school, who vowed to take revenge. Qi-ying, despite using extraordinary moves, is ultimately defeated and dies with a smile. Feihong inadvertently saves Shi Bing-wei's sister, Ying Zi, and they fall in love. Shi Bing-wei insists on a life-and-death duel with Feihong, but is ultimately defeated. He attempts to commit suicide, but Feihong advises him: the way of martial arts is built on virtue and based on forgiveness; only by cultivating the moral virtues of martial arts can one truly be a martial artist. Shi Bing-wei finally understands and decides to become a monk.
