A catastrophic earthquake threatens millions of lives! Should we wait and do nothing, or should we take risks? A magnitude 7.9 earthquake struck Seattle, Washington, and on the same day, an 8.4 magnitude earthquake erupted in Reed. A series of shocking earthquakes plunged the United States into chaos. Scientist Shan speculated based on her research data that these were not aftershocks, but rather caused by a series of interacting seismic sources. She also predicted that even larger earthquakes would occur. However, the head of the earthquake center did not believe her. Eventually, the 9.2 magnitude earthquake that struck San Francisco forced them to face the grim reality. During the most intense crustal movements, the underground structure of the city became extremely unstable, frequently experiencing large-scale ground subsidence. Jason was ordered to investigate deep underground and discovered that large cavities had formed 60 meters beneath the city. The entire city was in a state of suspension, and if it collapsed, it would be a catastrophic disaster. The entire United States mobilized to actively rescue the affected individuals and urgently evacuate the public. Scientists decided to detonate nuclear warheads to alleviate the seismic pressure. But ultimately, a magnitude 10.5 earthquake struck the west coast of the United States and Canada, destroying the Golden Gate Bridge. The seismic-induced Pacific waves submerged Los Angeles, swallowing trucks and almost catching up with trains... Most of the land fell into the ocean, and the situation was worsened by aftershocks and tsunamis. With land becoming scarcer, the millions who survived gathered together—would they be destroyed by the earthquake there?
