In the later stages of the Liberation War, following the victorious conclusion of the three major campaigns, the Central Committee and Chairman Mao made strategic decisions, directing Liu Bocheng (played by Fu Xuecheng) and Deng Xiaoping (played by Lu Qi) to lead parts of the Second Field Army and the Fourth Field Army to advance towards Hunan, Hubei, Guizhou, and Sichuan, encircling and annihilating the remaining enemies in the Southwest.
