The film company "Nikkatsu" has been in business for a hundred years, and one of its most representative brands is the "Pink Film" (in Japanese, Roman Porno), which was all the rage in the 70s and 80s, essentially romanticized adult films. This year marks the 45th anniversary of the birth of "Pink Film", and "Nikkatsu" has specially planned the "Roman Porno Reboot" project, enlisting five renowned directors: Hitoshi Matsumoto, Kazuya Shiraishi, Nakata Hideo, Akihiko Shiota, and Sion Sono, each to direct their own Pink film. The five directors must follow the past game rules: a lust scene every ten minutes, a film length of 70 to 80 minutes, a very low production cost, and filming completed within a week, with all other aspects left to their creativity. Shiraishi's "The Females" also pays homage to the classic "Females' Night," with the new version set on the streets of Ikebukuro, depicting the sexual activities of refugees, single mothers, and infertile wives prowling the night. Hitoshi Matsumoto's "Chaotic Naked Dance" features an original story about a comedian who, acting as a close-minded director, falls into the trap of female charms and suffers disgrace. The director of "The Ring," Nakata Hideo, makes his debut in the adult world with a touching story about female comrades, featuring the 90s actress Asuka Rin in a full nude performance titled "White Lily." The often outrageous Sono shows his rebellious nature fully, fighting poison with poison, creating "Antiporno," featuring former AKB member Mai Fukuhara in her first full nude leading role. The reason "Pink Film" has remained popular for decades is that "obscenity" is well-founded, with low costs but solid scripts, and it served as a crucible for young directors to hone their skills. Notable filmmakers like Oscar-winning director Yojiro Takita from "The Ceremony," Masaki Shiraishi from "Talk to Her, Dance with Her," and Shusuke Kaneko from "Death Note," as well as the late Yoshimitsu Morita, who directed "Koen," all started their careers by making Pink films.
