Feng Jin (played by Wang Gang) arrives at the Tianxia Bodyguard Bureau, spending a fortune to hire Wang Zhenwei (played by Zhou Qunda) as a bodyguard, whose charge is Feng Jin's adoptive daughter Shen Feiyan (played by Wu Xiaomin). Shen Feiyan's father, Shen Rong (played by Ji Qilin), discovers that the technique used by Wang Zhenwei is the "Overlord Soul-Chasing Spear," which he has been seeking for decades, prompting him to invite Wang Zhenwei's father, Wang Zhaoxing (played by Jiang David), to meet at his residence. Unknown to them, the two have a complicated history filled with grudges, and a disagreement leads to a martial arts competition at Shili Slope. On the day of the competition, Shen Rong falls victim to Wang Zhaoxing's Soul-Chasing Spear, yet Wang Zhaoxing is puzzled as his spear did not hit Shen Rong, indicating that there is someone manipulating events from behind the scenes, using the weapon to kill. Wang Zhenwei helps his father escape but surrenders himself, believing that his upright father could not be capable of such an act. Wang Zhenwei is imprisoned, but fortunately, Shen Feiyan rescues him and he regains his freedom, initiating an investigation into the truth behind the incident.
