Liliane (Isabelle Huppert) appears to be an ordinary factory worker, leading a 9-to-5 life and returning home immediately after work, without any entertainment or social life. In reality, Liliane is hiding her true identity and past; she once achieved fame as a singer under the name Laura, becoming a sensation in the entertainment industry. However, a failed romance led her to a dead end, prompting her to withdraw from public life and never look back. In the factory, Liliane meets a man named Jean (Kévin Azaïs), who dreams of becoming a professional boxer and works tirelessly towards that goal. Jean's father was a devoted fan of Laura, and upon discovering Liliane's true identity, he invites her to sing at his family gathering. This exposure leads to a more ambiguous relationship between Liliane and Jean.
