In the early 16th century, the Joseon Dynasty entered the notorious era of King Yeonsan (played by Kim Kang-woo). King Yeonsan was willful and violent, and with the assistance of the treacherous father and son, Lim Si-hong (played by Choi Hak-joon) and Lim Chong-jae (played by Joo Ji-hoon), he initiated the "Kapsi Incident," eliminating all dissent against him in one fell swoop. After this, no one dared to directly advise the tyrant, and the Lim father and son took the opportunity to grow powerful, recruiting followers and dominating the political landscape. To satisfy their endless desires, King Yeonsan appointed the Lim father and son as the Red Veil Envoys, ordering them to search nationwide for suitable young beauties to present to the dim-witted king. Not only could this consolidate their power, but it also served to undermine Yeonsan's favored concubine, Jang Yuk-soo (played by Cha Ji-yeon). They eagerly took on this task and personally selected the renowned courtesan Dan-hui (played by Lim Ji-yeon) to enter the palace. Power and intrigue, love and desire intertwine in the wheels of history…
