One summer, 14-year-old Duncan (Liam James) goes on vacation with his mom Pam, her boyfriend Trent, and Trent's daughter to Trent's seaside cottage. Like many children from divorced families, Duncan doesn't like his mom's boyfriend. He feels out of place with Trent's friends, and his naturally quiet demeanor becomes even more melancholy.
