Pansori singer Yoo-Bun (played by Kim Myung-kun) wanders with his adopted daughter Song-Hwa (Oh Jung-hae) in a wild mountain village and falls in love with a widow. To avoid gossip, Yoo-Bun takes his lover, Song-Hwa, and his lover's son Dong-Ho (Kim Kyu-chul) far away. The hardships of life cause the widow to leave this world too soon, and Yoo-Bun devotes himself to raising his children, determined to train them to become excellent Pansori singers. Due to the impact of external culture, this art form is gradually devalued by society. Dong-Ho cannot endure the life of poverty and wandering, and one day leaves without saying goodbye. Yoo-Bun blinds his adopted daughter's eyes in hopes that she will focus on her craft. Years later, Yoo-Bun passes away, Song-Hwa drifts to another place, and Dong-Ho follows his sister's footsteps to find the joy and happiness that has already been lost in his life...
