In a small town deep in the mountains, people live a quiet and content life. High school girl Machi (Xialian), although very familiar with her hometown, always feels that there are many unknown mysteries waiting for her to discover. One day, Machi and her two female friends, dreaming of the future, start a story chain game. As they fantasize about their future, the adults in the town begin to recall stories of the giant buried trees from the past. A storm "attacks" the town, revealing the buried giant trees from the adults' memories, opening the entrance to the "Dream Forest." The future that Machi and her friends have envisioned becomes connected to the past, everything becomes both real and illusionary, like a dream and smoke.
