Writer Carlos Calaste has long focused on the research of the famous American novelist Ernest Hemingway, whose experiences in Brazil during that time are enigmatic and caused him anxiety, even making him forget his own birthday. Shortly after, he visited a familiar second-hand bookstore and received a worn manuscript from a stranger who claimed to be a friend of the store owner. Preliminary investigations revealed that this manuscript, written in Spanish and titled "The Darkness of Havana," is likely penned by Hemingway himself. The book describes a brutal murder that took place in a certain house, forcing Carlos to link it to real-life cases. Encouraged by his friend John and his girlfriend Karen (played by Carolina Ravassa), the three set off for Cuba.
