In prison, explosives expert Laleau has accepted a $5 million job from a terrorist group: to create panic in America using paper-thin new bombs. Meanwhile, retired detective Frank Drebin (Leslie Nielsen) enjoys his honored retirement, and those thrilling battles seem to belong to the past. After learning about the terrorist bombing plan, the police invite Frank back to go undercover in a hospital to get close to Laleau's girlfriend, Tanya. His wife Jane (Priscilla Presley) has an increasing desire for children, but Frank, worn out from his public safety efforts, lacks any affection to spare, leading a heartbroken Jane to leave home. Frank goes undercover in prison for a second time, infiltrates Laleau's gang, and successfully escapes with him, thus staying close to Laleau to monitor him. At this point, Jane finds Frank and gets involved in the undercover operation. Laleau plans to place a bomb at the Oscars, and only Frank can save the Oscars...
