Sawahara Takuko (played by Ryoko Yonekura) is an experienced lawyer who often resorts to unscrupulous means to achieve victory in her career. One day, her colleague Harayama Masao (played by Masahiko Tsugawa) approached Takuko to entrust her with a case he was handling. The defendant is a woman named Shirakawa Kumako (played by Hana Kuroki), who is accused by the police of killing her husband, Fukutaro (played by Umezakura Nakamura). Fukutaro tragically dies in a car accident, while Kumako survives. Although Kumako repeatedly insists that the accident was purely accidental, the police find a wrench stained with Fukutaro's blood in the car, and Kumako, who has lied multiple times, is labeled as a wicked woman and faces strong condemnation from public opinion. Takuko's intuition tells her that Kumako is innocent.
