This film describes an FBI investigator who is supposed to arrest the mistress of an American mafia boss in Switzerland, but unexpectedly develops feelings for her after a brief encounter. Director Stuart Rosenberg tries to appear profound, which results in the film becoming a rather incoherent action movie that doesn't resemble a typical action film. The entire film has a slow pace and lacks a tense and thrilling atmosphere, with Charles Bronson's performance being surprisingly underwhelming, not at all as formidable as in the dubbed versions. The performances of Jill Ireland and Rod Steiger also come off as unremarkable.
