The story begins in 420 BC, at a time when the Roman Empire has fallen and barbarian hordes are trampling on English territory. At this moment of devastation, a cursed baby is born—he is Merlin (played by Simon Lloyd Roberts). According to legend, he is the child of a demon and will bring disaster to the world; however, the wizards do not believe the prophecy and decide to raise him.
