Based on a true story set against the backdrop of the Iraq War, it tells the story of Marine Corporal Megan Leavey and her military dog Rex as they save many lives together. After experiencing life and death and mutual redemption, a deep bond is formed between the marine and her dog. It elevates the bond between humans and dogs in a unique way within a real context. The dog is no longer just a pet but coexists with humans as a comrade; they no longer live under human protection but instead protect humans with their own bodies. The film restores the Iraq War from the novel perspective of “military dogs,” showcasing the thrilling scenes of military dogs defusing bombs and saving lives in combat zones, realistically portraying the tense and courageous state of female soldier Megan Leavey and military dog Rex on the battlefield.
