One summer, sixth-grade student Yuta (voiced by Shō Takagi) visits the firefly hill reservoir deep in the mountains on his own. He had come here years ago with his father to catch stag beetles, but his father passed away unexpectedly a year ago. The reservoir, which holds countless beautiful memories, naturally holds special significance for him. During this time, he encounters a rare torrential rain and accidentally falls into the reservoir. Fortunately, Yuta is successfully rescued, and in an old-fashioned little village, he meets a lovely and innocent girl named Saeko (voiced by Ayumi Kimura).
