On a stormy night, a group of mysterious individuals gallops towards the village of Shitamura, and shortly thereafter, the village is struck by a plague, resulting in the deaths of all the villagers. With the approval of the moon-watching master, the Koga group of ninjas heads to investigate the village, only to be attacked on the way by a bulletproof giant man. Only the ninja woman, Kagero (voiced by Emi Shinohara), escapes with the help of a man. This man is the beast soldier, Benkei (voiced by Koichi Yamadera). Soon after, he falls into an ambush set by the giant, leading to a bloody battle in which Benkei narrowly wins. At this point, a little old man named Jokan (voiced by Takeo Aono), who claims to be an official under the general, appears before Benkei. It turns out that the slain giant was one of the Eight Devils of the Demon Gate, an underling of the general’s adversary. Jokan and the others have been tracking them, but all the others have been killed, leaving only Jokan to follow them here. Through persuasion and trickery, Jokan hires Benkei for one hundred ryo to assist him in uncovering the truth. He claims that the leader of the Eight Devils, Kamura (voiced by Daisuke Gōri), was killed by Benkei himself; can the dead really come back to life? During the confrontation with the Eight Devils, Kagero reappears and saves Benkei, but she says it's only to repay a debt of gratitude. Is that really the case…
