Third-year university student Haruka Kawakura (played by Yuko Araki) attends an internship recruitment presentation at the recommendation of her friend Maki Hamasaki (played by Anri Okamoto). After listening to the speech given by the company's CEO, Masayuki Makino, Haruka is not interested in the internship position and is considering giving up when Maki submits an application on her behalf. On her way home, Haruka nearly gets into a traffic accident, and it is at this moment that Makino saves her just in time. When Makino wakes up in bed, he finds himself confronted by a self-proclaimed grim reaper (played by Gaku Sano), witnessing the scene of his own soul leaving his body.
